In the final game, a penalty was the only decider after the game ended with the two teams  deadlocked on 13 points apiece. The Level 400 students edged out their Level 300 mates 4-3 in the penalty shootout to carry the JB Challenge trophy.

Competitors included Level 100, 200, 300 and 400 students of HPERS, coaching students and non-HPERS students.

Dr Jatong Baba, in whose honour the competition was played, expressed satisfication with the development of the game among the youth.

He was also happy with the high standards exhibited by the players, the coaching students and also the officiating.

Dr Baba, who is a former national coach and a veteran handball lecturer, noted that with the rapid progress of the discipline among students of basic and second -cycle institutions, Ghana stood a great chance to play in the Olympics and any world championship in the near future.

The Deputy Director General of the National Sports Authority, Saka Acquaye, who graced the event, proposed that the competition be held three times in a year to grow the sport and create more awareness about the discipline.
