Uganda won't be easy - Grant

Black Stars Coach, Avram Grant, says his side possesses the quality to defeat The Cranes of Uganda on Friday when they meet head to head in their FIFA World Cup Africa group qualification opener at the Tamale Sports Stadium.

Grant, who led the team to a silver medal feat at the last AFCON tournament in Equatorial Guinea, noted that the game was set to be a tough one but expected his team to deliver.

Speaking to the media after the team’s first training at the Accra Sports Stadium yesterday, Grant said: “We have the quality to beat Uganda when we play them on Friday, although it will be a very tough game”.

“They have a good team and will try to beat us but I have faith in my team and I believe they will deliver the win to the entire nation,” he added.

When asked about the unavailability of trio, Adam Larsen Kwarasey, Jeffery Schlupp and Thomas Partey, who did not train with the team, Grant said they were expected to arrive last to join the team to Tamale.

He, however, called on Ghanaians to rally behind the team to enable them win convincingly against the Ugandans on Friday.
