Fidelity Bank inaugurates branch at Cargo Village
Fidelity Bank has inaugurated its new branch at the Cargo Village at the Kotoka International Airport in Accra, bringing to 51 the total number of the bank’s branches in the country.

The Cargo Village handles the country’s horticultural exports such as fresh fruits and vegetables, which need speedy processing to facilitate their exports. The location of the bank, therefore, helps the exporters to meet any payment obligations faster and conveniently at close range.
The Deputy Managing Director of the bank, Mr Jim Baiden, who inaugurated the facility, said the bank was increasing its market share of deposits and assets through its expanded network of branches across the country.
“Fidelity has positioned itself to be the preferred bank for all; it is therefore our vision to have a branch or an agent point in every community in this country,” Mr Baiden said and added that, it was the reason the bank was embarking on a financial inclusion agenda to bring on board the under-banked and unbanked into the formal banking sector.
The deputy managing director of Fidelity Bank added that the bank wanted to inculcate in Ghanaians the habit of savings so individuals could have a chance to create some good assets for themselves.
That, he said, would be possible when banking became a convenience such that people could walk into a pharmacy, grocery shop and supermarkets apart from their traditional branches to transact their banking services.
“We are, therefore, asking everybody to look out for Fidelity Agent Point in their localities where they can open an account and do their normal banking business,” he said.
Some dignitaries present at the inauguration of the Fidelity Cargo Village included the Deputy Director-General of the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority; Mr Abdullai Alhassan Mr David Adu-Bediako Senior Marketing Officer of the Ghana Airports Company Limited, as well as directors of ground handling and freight forwarding companies at the Cargo Village.
In a related development, Fidelity Bank also inaugurated its 76th automated teller machine (ATM) at Sakumono to serve the entire community and nearby churches.
