Old Mutual Ghana has reaffirmed its commitment to protecting the welfare of Ghanaians through the payment of over GH¢130,000 in Group Welfare claims to seven officers of the Ghana Armed Forces’ Department of the Civilian Establishment.

The gesture, which also included a cash donation, forms part of the company’s pledge to stand with clients in times of loss and celebrate with them in moments of triumph.

Led by Kosmas Egumbo, Old Mutual Africa Regions (OMAR) Life & Asset Management Executive, the team paid a courtesy call on the Department at the Ministry of Defence to strengthen existing partnerships and offer condolences to the families of gallant officers who lost their lives in the line of duty.

“We take relationships with our stakeholders seriously. We believe that our business thrives because of stakeholders like you,” Mr. Egumbo said, reaffirming Old Mutual’s dedication to supporting its partners in both public and private sectors.

The Director General of the Defence Civilians Establishment, Brigadier General Dagadu, who received the team, commended Old Mutual for its consistent support and role in improving the welfare of staff across various units of the Ghana Armed Forces. He acknowledged that the company’s prompt response to claims and continued engagement had strengthened confidence in its insurance and pension solutions.

Also present during the visit was Roy Punungwe, Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Old Mutual Ghana, who stressed that the company remains committed to safeguarding what matters most for its clients. “As a business that is dedicated to protecting what matters most for institutions and businesses, these gestures are important to us,” Mr. Punungwe said.

The company’s Head of Distribution, Emma Ocansey, also joined the visit, which underscored Old Mutual’s reputation as a reliable financial partner. The initiative aligns with its brand promise of being “that certain friend in uncertain times,” providing assurance not only through financial compensation but by prioritising the welfare of people and communities.
