Ghana’s Stonebwoy has won the 2015 BET Award for Best International Act: Africa at the pre-taped ceremony, ahead of the main awards in Los Angeles on Tuesday.

The dancehall artist was nominated alongside Ghana’s Sarkodie, AKA (South Africa), The Soil (South Africa), Wizkid (Nigeria), Yemi Alade (Nigeria), Fally Pupa(Democratic Republic of Congo) and Sauti Sol (Kenya).

Also, MzVee was nominated alongside Cassper Nyovest (South Africa) and Eddy Kenzo (Uganda) for the first ever Viewer's Choice "Best International" award.

Internationally Chris Brown and Nicki Minaj lead the BET Awards with an impressive six nominations including: Best Male R&B, Pop Artist, Best Collaboration, Best Female Hip Hop Artist & Video of the Year.
