That Night I Found Love starts today

Love comes to those who still hope, although they have been disappointed. It comes to those who believe, although they have been betrayed; for those who still lean towards it (love), although they have been hurt before and to those who have the courage and faith to build trust again.

And that is what Anita Oduro’s third play That Night I Found Love, scheduled for a road show is about this month.

From today, February 11-13, the play will show, at the University of Cape Coast Main Auditorium at 7pm each night.

The KNUST CCB Auditorium will play host to That Night I Found Love on Saturday, February 27 at 4pm and 8pm.

The play makes a stop at the University of Ghana Efua Sutherland Drama studio on March 11 and 12 at 7 pm.

That Night I Found Love is a tragedy with a hint of comedy to lighten moods, but leaves one with heightened emotions and so many questions about love.

The play featuring Tobi Igbenoba and KAF Jnr.  is about a young lady who is sent into a wheelchair and still suffers physical and verbal abuse from the man she loves.

She lives in fear and in so much pain and does not disclose to even the few people she is allowed by her partner to have interactions with for fear of punishment.

Little did she know that her bestfriend is not only in bed with her partner but also knows exactly what she goes through in the hands of her partner.

As events unfold, love is presented to her in an unexpected turn of events.  She delays in accepting true love, she delays in seeing true love.  She keeps looking at the closed door of love, that she did not notice a bigger door of love open to her.

In a chat with Showbiz, Anita who also directed the play said “We have been made to believe that love is blind, but over the years I have come to believe love is more of a decision than of vision.

“We accept all forms of abuse or happiness depending on whom or what we decide to love at any given time. It is true that we do not know what we have until we lose it, but it is also true that we do not know what we are missing until it arrives”.

The play is produced by Anod Communications with support from Anod Klodin, Mime Africa Magazine, Tamek Fruit Juice, Bamson Company Limited and 4change Solutions.
