Resetting Ghana together: Call to unity of purpose for nation
On Saturday, December 7, 2024, Ghanaians went to the polls to elect a president and 276 Members of Parliament.
Touted as a high-stakes election, the occasion was preceded by numerous calls for a peaceful, fair and transparent process to solidify Ghana’s position as a beacon of democracy.
Despite a few skirmishes and isolated acts of lawlessness that must be addressed with the full force of the law, the process unfolded largely as the world and all Ghanaians had hoped: a testament to Ghana’s stability and democratic maturity.

Rebuilding Trust: Mahama’s roadmap for economic recovery, combatting corruption
The recent electoral triumph of President-elect John Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) marks a significant shift in Ghana's political landscape.
This landslide victory has caught both the NDC and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) by surprise, particularly due to the unexpected margin of seats gained/lost in Parliament and the substantial vote difference in the presidential race against Vice-President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
Analysts attribute Mahama's win to widespread public dissatisfaction rooted in economic hardship and perceived governmental corruption.

Do you really have typhoid disease?
If there is any particular disease that a lot of people agree to suffer from, then it is typhoid fever. But when probed further, they admit to all kinds of symptoms except fever.
They only refer to the disease as typhoid. What they forget is that the disease, they claim to be suffering from, is known as typhoid fever.
Thus, without the symptoms of fever, it is highly unlikely that one will be suffering from typhoid fever.

NDC's triumph over sabotage: Mental, cardiovascular health impacts
The 2024 Ghanaian general election brought to the forefront the destructive effects of intense political criticism and sabotage, which can have far-reaching consequences for the mental and physical health of citizens.
This environment not only undermines the health and resilience of individuals and communities but also has severe consequences for citizens' mental and physical well-being.
Notably, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) emerged victorious despite being ridiculed, criticised and sabotaged by opposing parties, marking a triumphant journey from sabotage to salvation and victory.

Let’s digitise transmission of electoral results
As the nation awaits the declaration of parliamentary results in nine constituencies, almost two weeks after the December 7 election, it has become increasingly evident that Ghana's electoral process is in need of a technological overhaul.
The delays in declaring results in the Nsawam-Adoagyiri, Ahafo Ano South West, Ahafo Ano North, Obuasi East, Dome-Kwabenya, Okaikwei Central, Ablekuma North, Tema Central, and Techiman South constituencies, largely attributed to disputes over result collation and declaration by returning officers, underscore the imperative for a more efficient and technology-friendly approach to transmitting results.
