    A local governance expert, Dr Richard Fiadomor, has said the realigned Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs will promote effective administration at the local level.

    He said the merger of the former Ministries of Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs and Local Government, Decentralisation and Rural Development would not only create one of the largest ministries in the country but also significantly strengthen local governance.

    The Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) has urged public officers of the new government, members of the ninth Parliament and all public officers to take immediate steps to apprise themselves of the Code of Conduct for Public Officers and declare their assets in accordance with law before taking office. 

    The commission further called on the government to take steps to prioritise the passage of the Conduct of Public Officers Bill.

He was conferred with a Doctorate in Philosophy in Management Sciences specializing in Business Management from the Central University of Technology in Free State, Bloemfontein, South Africa last year. 

    Dr. Asiedu Nketia is also the National Vice Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Youth Working Committee.
