Vision of Hope Alliance donates 100 dual desks to Have Fiakpokorpe M.A. Basic School

Pupils of the Have Fiakpokorpe M.A. Basic School in the Akatsi South Municipality have received 100 dual desks and a range of learning materials from the Vision of Hope Alliance, a non-governmental organisation working to support deprived communities.

The donation, made up of contributions from CareerCompass Gh Foundation, NurtureUp Legacy Foundation and Seyram Amakpah-Azasu, forms part of the Alliance’s mission to improve learning environments and promote quality education in rural areas.

At a ceremony held in Have Fiakpokorpe, chiefs, teachers, parents, pupils and community leaders gathered to witness the presentation. The project was supported by several partners including the THX22 Foundation, PayAngel, Twellium Industrial Company Limited, Aspire Executive Institute, Ecolumiere Solutions and the HR Certification Center.

Founder and CEO of the Alliance, Mr Dickson Assan, who led the delegation, said the organisation believes every child deserves a safe and comfortable place to learn. He noted that education remains one of the strongest tools for breaking poverty and creating opportunities for young people.

Mr Assan said the team was moved to intervene after the Assembly member reported the school’s poor conditions. He said a visit to the community revealed limited seating, lack of storage and pressure on both pupils and teachers. This, he added, pushed the Alliance to extend support, following a similar gesture last year when they donated over 3,000 teaching and learning materials.

Aside from the desks, the Alliance also presented trunks for book storage, 500 reading books, dozens of second-hand shoes, more than 400 packs of drinking water, biscuits, soft drinks and other treats.

The donation also featured food items and more

Mr Assan encouraged the pupils not to be discouraged by their rural location, adding that many great leaders started from small communities. He urged them to remain disciplined and focused.

Receiving the items, the Assembly member, Hon Japhet Gbede, thanked the Alliance and described the donation as a major boost for the school. He said the desks will help reduce congestion and improve teaching and learning.
