CFCC commissions 23 new leaders

The Covenant Family Community Church (CFCC) has commissioned 23 new leaders to champion evangelism and boost administrative functions in the church.

The ceremony, which took place last Saturday (November 22) at the church premises in Accra, saw the ordination of 17 elders, the ordination of five ministers and the apostolic affirmation of one senior minister.

The elders included 11 women and six men drawn from various branches of the church, while the ministerial ordination comprised five men who had served in teaching, evangelism and leadership roles.

Also, an international evangelist and former General Director of the Scripture Union Ghana, Apostle Jude Hama, was affirmed.

Present at the ceremony were the former Moderator of the Global Evangelical Church, Very Rev. Cdr. F. H. Gbewonyo; former Chairman of the Church of Pentecost, Apostle Prof. Opoku Onyinah; the former General Secretary of the Church of Pentecost, Apostle Nana Yaw Kumi-Larbia, and the Pioneer Executive Director of the Lausanne Committee for World Evangelisation, Rev. Gottfried Osei-Mensah.

They joined the leadership team to conduct the commissioning rites and support the newly ordained ministers.

Charge

The General Overseer of the CFCC, Rev. Dennis Osei-Manu, charged the newly commissioned leaders to commit to preaching rather than administrative comfort.

“Your calling is centred on rescuing people facing spiritual oppression and guiding them into salvation.

You have an urgent responsibility to reach people suffering under spiritual, emotional and moral burdens,” he said.

He reminded them that spiritual influence depended on yieldedness, not personal qualification.

Rev. Osei-Manu also explained that God deliberately appointed leaders for specific seasons and assignments.

He stressed that ministry roles were chosen by divine selection rather than by routine service or human enthusiasm.

The general overseer urged the newly commissioned leaders to depend on the Holy Spirit and reject materialism, which he described as a growing distraction in the modern church.

Furthermore, he admonished them to pursue ministry with humility and endurance.

“Never relax. You have been brought in to labour and you will see the hand of God if you do it genuinely and seek His help,” he added.
