Motorcyclist killed in collision with truck at Anyaa Market
A motorcyclist has been killed in a rear-end collision with a MAN diesel truck at the Anyaa Market in the Greater Accra Region.
The accident occurred on Tuesday, January 13, near a traffic light along the main road. The Anyaa Fire Station received a distress call at 9:44 am and arrived at the scene within five minutes.
According to a post on Facebook by the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), the motorcycle sustained partial damage, while the front section of the truck was also affected.
The male victim, believed to be the rider of the motorcycle, was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was subsequently handed over to the police to assist with further investigations.
GNFS personnel secured the scene, prevented any potential secondary hazards and coordinated with the Police and the National Ambulance Service to manage the incident safely. The cause of the crash is currently under investigation.
