The Executive Director of Global Info Analytics, Mussa Dankwah, raised concerns during a virtual forum hosted by the Africa Centre for Digital Transformation and IMANI Africa on Friday, July 19.

Mr. Dankwah, the keynote speaker of the dialogue stressed the importance of the EC implementing stringent security protocols.

“The EC plays a critical role and must adopt comprehensive security measures to comply with legal and best practice standards, ensuring system protection,” he said.

He advocated for transparent engagement between the EC, political parties, civil society groups, and the public to tackle emerging threats collaboratively.

“We need transparent dialogues with political parties, the EC, and civil society organizations to highlight the threats we face and our strategies to counter them, incorporating their input,” Mr. Dankwah added.

Emphasizing the need for public cyber awareness, Mr. Dankwah suggested that international partners could assist by conducting system audits to identify vulnerabilities.

“Promoting cyber awareness and voter vigilance is essential to ensure the resilience of our electoral systems,” he concluded.
