Avoid parallel investigations - NPP 2024 Election Review C’ttee to party members

The New Patriotic Party's (NPP) 2024 Election Review Committee has urged party members against conducting parallel investigations into the party's performance in the 2024 elections. 

The committee said such actions could lead to duplication of efforts, inconsistency in findings, and a lack of alignment with the party's broader objectives.

"We respectfully advise that all regional and constituency executive committees, groups, cease all regional-level investigations into Election Day operations and all other election-related matters to avoid conflicts with the mandate of the 2024 Election Review Committee," a statement signed and issued by the Secretary to the committee, William Yamoah, said.

Mandate

The National Council established the 2024 Election Review Committee to conduct comprehensive reviews of all election-related activities across the country with the mandate to ensure uniformity, objectivity, and consistency in the nationwide review process.

It encouraged party members to support its efforts by sharing relevant information and recommendations through proper channels.

"We strongly encourage all party faithful, professional associations, and groups to convene, deliberate on the underlying causes of our performance, and provide thoughtful recommendations," the committee said.

It urged individuals to submit memoranda to the committee, which has established a dedicated research desk to collect and analyse data on various social media platforms.

Assurance

It assured party members of its commitment to transparency and pledged to conduct a comprehensive investigation to identify and address obstacles.

"By adhering to the established structures, we can maintain party discipline and avoid potential misinterpretations of intent or authority at any level.

"We are confident that the 2024 Election Review Committee will deliver actionable recommendations for the party's future success," the statement said.

It urged all party members to align their efforts in support of this unified approach.

The committee is chaired by former Speaker of Parliament, Professor Aaron Mike Oquaye, and comprises eminent personalities from academia, politics and law.
