LPG selects Ibrahim Iddrisu for Ayawaso East constituency by-election
The Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG) has named Ibrahim Iddrisu as its parliamentary candidate for the upcoming by-election in the Ayawaso East Constituency in the Greater Accra Region.
The General Secretary of the party, Jerry Owusu Appauh, who announced this, said Mr Iddrisu’s vision aligned with integrity, inclusive development, and responsive governance.
He said the party's decision to contest the by-election reflected its commitment to democratic participation and to offer the people of Ayawaso East credible, people-focused leadership.
Mr Appauh said it also remained committed to a peaceful, issue-based, and respectful electoral process.
He emphasised that the constituency deserved representation that prioritised accountability, opportunity and practical solutions to everyday challenges.
"We believe the constituency deserves representation that prioritises accountability, opportunity and practical solutions to everyday challenges," he said.
Background
The Ayawaso East Constituency by-election was necessitated by the vacancy created following the demise of the former Member of Parliament, Naser Toure Mahama of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
