He explained that if the regional chairmen could not find “amicable solution to the problems confronting the party in recent times, then they are part of the problem” and so could not escape blame.

Reacting to the outcome of the crunch emergency meeting organised by the Greater Accra branch of the NPP,  Alhaji Abu said out of the 17 regional executive members, only five were present with 15 constituency chairmen and that the meeting could not take a decision on the two leading national executive members - Mr Paul Afoko and Mr Kwabena Agyepong.

He said he was surprised that the regional executive did not call for a regional steering committee meeting but instead called for the general steering committee meeting and gave those present forms to sign.

Alhaji Amin also said some regional executive members and constituency chairmen expressed surprise and disagreed with the Regional Chairman, Mr Ishmael Ashitey, who asked them to sign forms that asked the national chairman to step aside.

He also said the party was a democratic one and its interest was supreme and above any other interest.

He said as as such he would resist any move by the regional chairman to force them to sign forms that would ask the two national officers to step aside since that could impact the party negatively.

He also advised his fellow regional officers of the party to desist from playing politics with the tragic death of Upper East Regional Chairman of the party, Alhaji Adams Mahama.

He said the regional chairmen were required to wait for the arrest of the perpetrators of the heinous crime and completion of the police investigation.
