Black Satellites to play Nigeria, Cote d’Ivoire in WAFU competition

The national Under-20 side have been drawn against Cote d’Ivoire and Nigeria in Group B and must work hard to emerge out of this tricky group in the tournament slated for November 14 to 29.

The 2008 champions of the West Africa competition have remained a pale showdown of itself in recent times and coach Zito must work hard to ensure Ghana qualify for the next continental competition.

Ghana which remains the only Africa country to have won the competition at the world stage in 2009 in Egypt has since failed to live up to expectation and have not qualify for the last two tournaments in 2017 and 2019.

In order to restore that dignity Ghana must first pick a ticket to the continental competition by ensuring that they emerge out of this group to play in the final.

Togo who would be hosting the tournament and Nigeria who placed 3rd in the last U20 AFCON were drawn bye in Group A and Group B respectively.

In Group A, Togo has been drawn alongside Niger, Benin and Burkina Faso in another difficult group that would see the first two teams advancing to the next stage of the competition.
