Crystal Palace to face Man United in FA Cup final
Crystal Palace are through to the FA Cup final for the second time and will face Manchester United on Saturday, May 21, at Wembley.
Next month's final is a repeat of the 1990 showcase when Palace and United were involved in a thrilling 3-3 draw before the Red Devils ran out 1-0 winners in the replay.
Yesterday, Connor Wickham got Palace’s winning goal after Troy Deeney put Watford on level term on the 54th minute
Palace had earlier taken the lead through Yannick Bolasie whose header completed Yohan Cabaye's early corner.
Earlier last Saturday, Anthony Martial’s dramatic late winner fired Manchester United into the FA Cup final in a classic encounter with Everton at Wembley.
France international Martial broke onto Ander Herrera’s pass to slide home a minute into stoppage time.
United took the lead through Marouane Fellaini’s first-half effort but a Chris Smalling own goal levelled the scores after Romelu Lukaku had missed a penalty for Everton.
Wayne Rooney cleared a Lukaku effort off the line and Martial himself blazed over early during an end-to-end semi-final.
But United eventually came out on top thanks to Martial’s cool head for the May 21 final. - PA
