Falcao: I’m not under pressure to score

Radamel Falcao believes the goals will flow at Chelsea this season but insists he feels no pressure to find the net.

The Colombian has joined Jose Mourinho’s team on loan from Monaco after a miserable season at Manchester United that saw him score just four times in 29 appearances.

He returns to the Premier League with a point to prove but knows he’ll face stern competition from Diego Costa and Loic Remy for a place in the champions' team.

But having made his debut from the bench in last Sunday's FA Community Shield defeat by Arsenal, Falcao is relishing the challenge ahead.

“I feel very well, free and with a lot of confidence. I don't feel pressure to score,” he told The Sun.

“Strikers always want to score goals, clearly, I'm calm. The goals will come and we have great strikers in this team.

Mourinho, who shares the same agent, Jorge Mendes, as Falcao is confident he can restore the 29-year-old striker to the sensational form he showed when at Porto and Atletico Madrid.

Falcao scored 72 goals in 87 appearances at Porto between 2009 and 2011, before notching 70 in 91 at Atletico.

He is expected to get more game time in Chelsea's final International Champions Cup fixture with Fiorentina at Stamford Bridge this evening.

The Blues begin their title defence at home to Swansea City on Saturday evening.
