GFA announces dates to break 2024/25 league season for general elections
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced a one-week break for all its competitions in December.
In a statement released on Wednesday, November 27, the GFA said the decision was made to allow participants to exercise their civic responsibility during the national General Elections scheduled for December 7, 2024.

Per the GFA's 2024/25 season calendar, the Ghana Premier League, Access Bank Division One League, Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League, and all other competitions will pause after this weekend’s matches.
This includes the MTN FA Cup Round of 64 games and Matchday 6 fixtures of the Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League.
Football will resume the following weekend, beginning Friday, December 13, 2024.
The GFA clarified that clubs and match officials were already informed of the halt in the league fixtures, and this notice serves as a reminder.

The Ghana Football Association wishes to inform all members, stakeholders and the general public that all of its competitions will go on a planned break after this weekend's matches to enable all participants in football to perform their civic duties in the national General Elections on December 7, 2024.
The GFA Calendar for the 2024/25 season indicates that the Ghana Premier League, the Access Bank Division One League, the Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League, and all other competitions will take a short one-week break after this weekend's MTN FA Cup Round of 64 games, Matchday 6 of the Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League and all other matches, for the upcoming national General Election.

The Ghana Premier League, Access Bank Division One League, and the Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League matches are scheduled to resume on the weekend of Friday, December 13, 2024.
The clubs and match officials are already fully aware of this one week break per the league fixtures, and this notice only serves as a reminder.
The Association urges all participants in football and Ghanaians to perform their civic duties in a peaceful manner and wishes all Ghanaians a successful election.
