Graphic, others launch Ghana Heritage week

As part of its effort to promote tourism in Ghana, the Graphic Communications Group Limited in collaboration with AH Global, an international travel company and One People Travels have launched the Ghana Heritage Week 2014.

Scheduled for December 8 to December 13, the week-long activities is aimed at promoting knowledge and patronage of tourism sites in Ghana.

Briefing journalists at a press launch on Tuesday, the Director for Sales and Marketing at the Graphic Communications Group Limited, Miss Shirley Acquah-Harrison, said Ghana has a lot of tourists sites but little attention was given to them.

She added that a lot of young people are not familiar with the history of most of these sites because they have not had the opportunity to visit these places.

Some of the sites that will be visited during the week-long activities are Shai Hills, Krobo Caves, Tegbi, Caves of Leklebi, Sogakope, Cape Coast Castle, Elmina Castle, The Cocoa Research Institute and Kakum National Park.

Others are the W.E.B Dubois Centre, Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, James Town Light House and the Black Star Square.

A street carnival will be held at the Osu Oxford Street to climax the activities.
