21 African heads of state, foreign dignitaries to attend Mahama's inauguration

Twenty-one Heads of State will join a high-level delegation of foreign dignitaries for President-elect John Dramani Mahama's inauguration ceremony in Accra on Tuesday, January 7, 2025.

The Ministry of Information confirmed in a January 6, 2025 statement that the international guests include three Vice Presidents, four Ministers, and 24 envoys, demonstrating significant diplomatic support for Ghana's presidential transition.

The Ministry expressed appreciation for the "overwhelming support and solidarity from the international community" ahead of the ceremony at Parliament House.

The government has implemented comprehensive security and logistical arrangements for the visiting dignitaries, including temporary road closures around key venues from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM on inauguration day.

The acting Chief Director at the Ministry of Information, Lily-Fati Soale signed the official announcement, which also outlined media coverage plans and traffic management protocols for the event.
