Former Member of Parliament for Ledzokuku, Dr Bernard Okoe Boye, has been elected as the new Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Dr Okoe Boye defeated his main contender, Alfred Boye, in the NPP Greater Accra Regional Executive Elections held on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at the WAEC Hall in Tema.

Dr Okoe Boye defeated his main contender, Alfred Boye, by polling 488 votes against 173.
He takes over from the outgoing Regional Chairman, Divine Otoo Agorhom, who had earlier announced his decision not to seek another term.
The election brought together delegates from across the Greater Accra Region to elect new executives who will lead the party’s regional affairs as it reorganises its structures and prepares for the 2028 general elections.
Dr Okoe Boye, a former Minister of Health, said his administration would focus on service, unity and grassroots mobilisation as the party seeks to rebuild its support base in the region.
New regional executives
Joana Frances Adda was elected First Vice Chairman with 405 votes, defeating Racheal Tutu, who polled 243 votes, and Emmanuel King Affotey, who obtained 12 votes.
Prince Obeng won the Second Vice Chairman position with 453 votes, followed by Kofi Ofori with 155 votes and Peter Henry Vanderpuije with 51 votes.
Daniel Parker Odarlai France emerged Secretary with 347 votes, defeating Emmanuel K. Clottey, who secured 314 votes.
Gideon Nii Ampim Sackey was elected Deputy Secretary with 209 votes, followed by Baba Seidu Issaka with 207 votes and Charles Oteng with 173 votes. Albert Estaraus Nii Kraku and Shaibu Abdullai Ananafo Kabore polled 35 and 33 votes, respectively.
Michael Danquah won the Treasurer position with 256 votes, while Francisca Anyorkor Boateng Amponsem obtained 222 votes. Kofi Twum Boafo polled 155 votes, David Laryea 17.
Moses Abor secured 464 votes to become Regional Organizer. Emmanuel Anim Austin and Collins Kofi Asante obtained 153 and 34 votes, respectively.
Solomon Asante was elected Communication Officer with 265 votes, ahead of Abdul-Rahaman Sabo Adam with 239 votes. Isaac Oheneba Danso Junior and George Asafo-Adjei polled 88 and 68 votes, respectively.
Edward Benjamin Nargeh won the Youth Organizer position with 296 votes, followed by Mandela Wiafe with 259 and Kwame Bekoe with 102 votes.
Naomi Akosua Owusu was elected Women Organizer with 227 votes, narrowly defeating Sarah Dugbakie Pobee, who polled 226 votes. Marie Timitey obtained 101 votes, Perpetual Asante 92 and Naana Eyeson 15.
Jeff Kassim Abdallah was elected Nasara Coordinator unopposed.
Renewed energy
Dr Okoe Boye said the decisive support he received from delegates demonstrated their desire for renewed energy, unity and a determined approach to reclaim political power.
He said his leadership would embrace servant leadership rather than authority.
“In the 21st century, it is not lordship leadership; it is servant leadership. That is what I am going to do for you,” he said.
Hard work
Dr Okoe Boye acknowledged that rebuilding the NPP’s electoral fortunes, particularly in Greater Accra, would be challenging but said it was achievable through unity, sustained grassroots mobilisation and hard work.
“I am not afraid of hard work. I admit that it is a very heavy task, but I also know it can be done,” he said.
He pledged to work closely with constituency executives and described his approach as a “24-hour campaign” aimed at strengthening the party at the grassroots.
Dr Okoe Boye said the NPP was targeting 21 parliamentary seats in Greater Accra, the number it secured in 2016.
He cited the political comeback of former President John Mahama as evidence that electoral fortunes could change, saying political setbacks should not lead to despair.
“Anything can happen. The only thing is a lot of hard work and belief. I have the belief; what is left is the hard work,” he said.
He therefore urged party members to remain united, disciplined and focused on grassroots mobilisation as the NPP seeks to reclaim lost seats and restore what he described as “real hope” to Ghanaian youth.
