I support the Sports Minister, Nii Lante Vanderpuiye for suggesting that the local Black Stars should be re-named.

We have no proof, nor can sources at the Ghana Football Association verify, but it is widely rumoured that gamblers in Ghana, South Africa, China, Malaysia and other places made huge gains from the results of the last two matches of the first round.

Let’s save the league from the gamblers!

GFA’ll drag Capital Bank to court — PLB boss

The Chairman of Premier League Board (PLB), Ashford Tettey-Oku, has hinted that the Ghana Football Association (GFA) is in the process of dragging the Capital Bank (formerly First Capital Plus Bank) to court over a breach of contract.

He said after the bank unilaterally terminated its five-year sponsorship deal with the Premier League, the GFA has been left with no other option than to proceed to court to have the case settled .

Black Stars Coach Avram Grant has described the first round of Ghana’s Premier League as one of the most competitive leagues on the African continent.
