Mahama calls for calm, condemns attacks on public property after Election 2024
President-Elect John Dramani Mahama has called for calm and restraint in a national address, following reports of violence and lawlessness in some parts of the country.
In a live broadcast Tuesday night [Dec 10], Mr Mahama, condemned reports of attacks on public offices and installations and urged citizens to remain calm and avoid actions that could harm Ghana's institutions and democracy.

EC working to complete election collations
The Electoral Commission (EC) has assured the public that it is working with the security agencies and leadership of the political parties to ensure legal processes are followed in constituencies where the collation of parliamentary election results is ongoing.
The Deputy Chairman of the EC in charge of Operations, Samuel Tettey, who gave the assurance at a news conference in Accra Tuesday, said this would help to bring an end to all collation in outstanding constituencies.

Tema Central NPP rejects results
The New Patriotic Party (NPP), has rejected the collated parliamentary results announced by the Electoral Commission (EC) for the Tema Central constituency in Greater Accra.
The collation of the results which started at the Chemu Senior High Technical School on Saturday night had to be continued at the Tema Regional Police Command on Monday, December 9, 2024, following disagreements which led to the firing of tear gas by the police leading to the collapse of one of the EC officials in the early hours of Sunday.
