Kumasi Asante Kotoko left back, Edwin Tuffuor Frimpong, has apologised to the entire Kotoko family for the red card he received during their crunch match against Accra Hearts of Oak at the Accra Stadium last Monday.

He said sheer determination to win the encounter might have led to his sending off.

“I was too determined and wanted to do anything to ensure we won the match. I also wanted to overshadow Isaac Mensah, who to me, was not a threat at all,” the young Kotoko defender told the Graphic Sports in an interview.

Tuffour Frimpong, son of former Kotoko and Black Stars international defender, Frimpong Manso, was playing for the first time against Hearts since joining the Porcupine Warriors this season but was sent off with about 10 minutes to end the first half, following a second yellow card for a foul on Hearts midfielder, Isaac Mensah.
